Seeping-Water Graves

In October, 2008 a strange phenomenon occurred in the countryside of Tartous city located in Syria, pure quantities of water were found coming from two graves and source could not be defined, Here we mention 2 stories:

1 – Ayman's Tomb

Hundreds of residents of "Khirbet Al-Sendyana" and the surrounding regions came to visit the grave of the child "Ayman" who died at the age 12 to fill their vessels with drops of "blessed water" which was seeping from the grave, other were used their cameras in mobile phones to take photos, the water was seeping through the corners of the grave and from its four corners as it was streaming but with fluctuations. water flow decreases increase from time to time.

The child "Ayman" was born in a family including 9 siblings and as his mother saying : "He was calm, diligent and was reading a lot of religious books and parts of the Holy Koran and when he reached the age of 12 until we discovered that he has a heart disease and with time his case become worse and he underwent to a heart surgery at "Almoassa" hospital in "Damascus", later he underwent to a second surgery when he died during it , Then buried near the house and after a few days of "Ayman" death; I dreamt of him as he addressed me, saying, :"Mom , I feel cold, cover me" and when I asked one of the religion men in the village about my dream , he advised me to build a shrine above the ground for him and actually we embarked on the subject but the building supervisor said that this was not possible yet and again I saw him in a dream and he repeated his request , then he has had what he wanted ".

Afterwards Ayman's mother did not visit the grave only a little and someday she was surprised that the picture of the child which was hanged on the house began to seep water !, then she replaced it to another wall because she thought that the water comes from outside, especially that it was in the winter but the seeping did not stop and so days went till 4 years later after his death, and for her surprise, and what surprised her more is when she visited the tomb in the Lesser Bairam, she saw the water exudes from the tomb corners at lower side, not that ground at that time was very dry, especially in those days and here she told the family, then the news spread and started to get attention of the subject which they did not find an explanation to it yet. And "Ayman" sister said: "He was tending to read and write and I recalled some words was written by him on one of his notebooks says:" We human beings were created from ash (land soil or "Turab" in Arabic) and we will return to ash" , However she kept silent when she asked to give an interpretation about what is happening and she just satisfied with the reaction of watching public.

It is considered strange that water seeping from the grave was happened in the month of drought in that region considering that the rain retained in it since the month of March , However others spoke about a trick or a method through which water is put at the shrine in such a way and others have argued that they would not believe that except when the local authorities lift up the grave to prove that definitely and to indicate that there were nothing to indicate or suggest that any change has occurred in the tomb since it was built 4 years ago.

Similar Incidents

1- The blood fountainheads

The residents of "Juba Majbar" (a village which belongs to Broumana Al-Mashayeikh area) discovered a strange phenomenon in that region and they could not provide an adequate explanation around it and they called it "The blood fountainheads" as in that jungle region there are large areas of white rocks in a middle of a large area with blood-reddish soil which is away from the natural soil of that region, which interfere with the rocks so that it looks in the rain like blood-red fountainheads coming out from the ground to be poured down the valley where a narrow river flows towards "Surani" bridge.

2 – The Expat Tomb

Hundreds of people flock to "Dahr Matar" village in the countryside of "Tartous" where there is a tomb aging 27 years ago just to watch the seeping water from it during many weeks ago without interruption, and many people continued filling in their vessels with that water for the blessing. According to the accounts of the region's people, the person who was buried in the grave was called "Ibrahim Ismail" who returned to his hometown after 50 years of expatriation in Brazil, then he died 27 years ago and was buried in "Dahr Matar" village (in "Al-Suda" side in "Sheikh Badr" region). The people of the region circulating a tale: "The person who was buried in that tomb was praying and praising too much , very generous and calm, and he was doing charity work and his house was a destination for the poor". Ismail Ismail who is the deceased's son comments on this: "Through my companionship with my father I knew that he had a good reputation and good biography, but whatever I say , my testimony will be doubtful because I am his son, After all if you want to ask about him, you can ask those who knew him and were a contemporary of him, especially those who lived with him in Brazil". The Sheikh "Suleiman Ali" who is the Sheikh of the mosque of "Dahr Matar " village, commented on the topic saying: "There is no doubt that the late "Ibrahim Ismail" was one of the religious people as he was known for his good reputation, and I was in a contemporary of him in Brazil and he was as a companion for my father in the expatriation in the first half of the last century, we knew him as a generous and religious man, and Mr. Ali Dalloul who was an acquaintance of the late Ibrahim Ismail" in Brazil , confirmed saying :" He was contributing the food to whom he knew of Arabs in Brazil especially the poor in every Saturday, and his house in Brazil was the home to any Arabs" ,and Adnan Ismail who is a relative of the late Ibrahim Ismail says: "First, of all we are in the fall and there was no rain since last March, secondly, the water seeping through the marble and cement and does not come out of the soil, thirdly, if there was a groundwater , it would have been reflected on the trees around the tomb, which does not differ from other shrubs away from the grave" .

Coming to the grave is not limited to men but women and children had to attend also. Mm. Um Qusay who is from the same village explained: "Along the last 2 weeks , there was East wind in the region and it is known that the East wind drying any trace of water quickly, but this did not happen to the water which seeping from the tomb. A clergyman in the region says about this phenomenon:"It should not be judgmental on the subject purposelessly and all people must respect the sanctity of death and shrines, and for the water seeping I think that we have to wait and give time to see the truth of what happening , that it may be only a natural phenomenon and it is not of wisdom to exaggerate things but should put everything in its natural and right context and time will do so ".

No Geological or Scientific explanation found !

Mr. Mohamed Moeness , the expert geologist in (Tartous Water Corporation) says: "There is no scientific explanation for this phenomenon and we experts examining now where this water comes from, and we found that the water comes from the bottom side of the tomb, among the concrete , and he said : "The soil is dry , and the water can not be gathered in the remaining area, and the nearest water source is far from the grave more than 500 meters, so even the water seeping from it , it can not reach the grave because the region is an ancient mound ,and the concrete grave box is completely closed, and there is drought, and the zone is hot, though that the water seeping remained on the same level without an increase or decrease, and over coming 24 hours, and soon this water will be under laboratory testing ".
